Another problem faced by rural communities is the lack of awareness of the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy lifestyles. This is related to the low knowledge of parents on the close relationship between nutrients with physical and cognitive development of children. Stunting growth problems, health problems of pregnant women and infants, and problems with brain development are some of the issues requiring attention.
JKF as a foundation that started initially with the mission in the field of education sees the importance of the relationship between nutrition with cognitive intelligence. Increasing the potential of child intelligence should be seen as a biomedical effort or providing balanced food and nutritional supplements as well as in the creation and provision of a resource-rich learning environment both at home and in the learning environment.
Therefore, the foundation began to pioneer this effort. Since the beginning of 2017, JKF has had the opportunity to work with the Nutrition Empowerment Global Nutrition NGO of the United States that currently has a very successful health program in Nepal and Guatemala. GNE and JKF are currently making proposals to Kolibri for the provision of tablets and smartphones to allow JKF students and parents access to a specially created nutrition game app. This app is aimed at improving understanding of the relationship between nutrition and child development.
As a foundation that continues to learn, we need help from many parties, especially governments and academics, so that JKF-GNE cooperation in the field of nutrition can have a positive impact to help those in need.
